Go for the Real Thing

“There should be a consistency that runs through us all. For Jesus doesn’t change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally himself.  Don’t be lured away from him by the latest speculations about him. The grace of Christ is the only good ground for life. Products named after Christ don’t seem to do much for those who buy them.”  (Hebrews 13:8-9, The Message).

I was listening to the bible on my iPod this morning.  I find that hearing is different for me than reading.  I was struck by the words above.  Many times Christians are peddling things with Christ’s name on them.  As my friend, Sheri, says, “It looks good and smells good.”  My question is, “Does it taste good?”  Why would I want anything that is not truly of Him and His Way?

Backyard Construction

I realize that I have been neglecting this blog.  I haven’t posted here since August.  I think it’s been because I’ve been getting into the Fall schedule.  As a mom of 3 sons, there is a lot going on (school, activities, friends, etc.).  I am also building my photography business and keeping a blog for that as well.  One of my desires is to get back to this personal blog.  I do have much to share, I just need to make time to get it down here in cyberspace.  Thank you to those of you who continue to track me here…all 4 of you :o )  So onto some current news.

Our landlord is doing some remodeling at our house.  It will be so nice to have a freshly painted kitchen and a redesigned back yard.  Here are some pics of some of the destruction from this last week.

I thought I'd end the post on an up note. Our landlord is making a row of greenery on our side yard in anticipation of beautifying after the construction is done. We are going for a tropical look, with some plants having an asian feel as well.
